Split Systems

There are two types of Split Systems, Flat Panel and Evacuated Tube. Split systems use a solar controller and pump to transfer cold water from the tank to the solar collectors to be heated and returned to the middle or top of the tank.
The solar controller compares the temperature of the water in the solar collector to that in the tank. When the collector is hotter than the tank the pump is switched on, transferring the solar heated water to the tank.

- Once the water is heated by the sun, it returns to the tank and is stored for later use.
- A gas booster ensures the water is delivered to the home at a usable temperature even during the cooler months.
- The tube locks in heat from the sunlight.
- Hot vapour rises to the top of the sealed copper heat pipe.
- Water is heated as it passes through the manifold.
- Cold water is circulated by the pump station to the solar collector.
- Once the water is heated by the sun, it returns to the tank and is stored for later use.
- An electric booster ensure the water is delivered to the home at a usable temperature even during cooler months.
